Pyscho-social determinants discriminating adolescent prostitution

Abstract
Five variables (family structure and socioeconomic status, experience of family violence and family function, school ostracization and perceived social support from the school teachers and peers, for school factor, experience of sexual victimization and attitude toward prostitution, and internal and external behavioral problems) in a sample of 107 sexually exploited females recruited from seven ¡°At-Risk Youth Education Center¡± were compared to those of 364 female adolescents with no such experience. The logistic regression analysis revealed that internal and external behavior problems, experience of sexual assault, and parent¡¯s marital status were the most critical factors, suggesting the importance of sound family structure and function in order to prevent adolescents¡¯ sexual deviation.
